Strategic Delivery Manager (at GuidePoint Security) | Offensive Application Security | (opinions are my own) | Father | Thelemite | He/Him | LBGTQ+ | Portland, Maine

Hey friend! 👋

My name is Casey and welcome to my site! I'm thrilled to share my interests in application security, programming, privacy, retro gaming, and many other things I'm passionate about.

I seek a quieter life, both online and offline. I practice digital minimalism and very interested in the indieweb and smolweb movements and using technology in a sustainable manner. I like boring technology that just works and think that modern development is overly complicated. I seek to get back to basics with technology.

Work

I currently work as a Strategic Delivery Manager for the Information Assurance ‐ Application Security team at GuidePoint Security. In this role I work with our account executives, clients, project managers, and technical consultants to ensure smooth delivery and oversight of all application security work the team is doing for our larger clients. Before this role, I was a Managing Security Consultant on the application security team where my time was split between delivering assessments for web, mobile, desktop, secure code reviews, as well as leadership and mentoring new team members and helping the team out with whatever they need.

I've been doing application security, mostly offensively, for about a decade now. Before entering the security space professionally, I worked as a software developer in a variety of industries. I've developed drivers for programmable logic controllers in the SCADA industry, worked on transaction processing and fraud detection in the financial industry, and have developed a multitude of solutions for clients when I've done contracted development. I've developed in many languages, C/C++, Java, C#, Python, to name a few. Nowadays, most of my development is done in C++ and Python. I'm particularly fond of low level and desktop development.

I've been passionate about application security and hacking since I started reverse engineering computer games when I was about twelve. Since then, I've brought my knowledge of application security to every position I've worked in.

Education

I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern Maine (2009) in Portland Maine where I also narrowly missed having a minor in Mathematics. Currently, I'm finishing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy (eta 2026) at the University of Southern Maine.
